Introduction To Test Kits:
The homes we live in, the air we breathe, and the items in our homes can make us sick or even worse. That is why the United States Environmental Protection Agency recommends that every home in America be tested for certain environmental pollutants. Regardless of the age, location or style of your home, you and your family may be exposed to hazardous levels of contaminants 10 to 20 times greater than found outdoors and without knowing why, experience symptoms that are often overlooked by doctors as everyday medical complaints.
The average American spends over 80 percent of their time indoors where concentrations of pollutants often exceed government health guidelines. A better understanding of these contaminants and a reduction in exposure can greatly improve the quality and length of our lives. Testing for these contaminants is one of the first steps to providing a safe environment for your family to live in.
Radon Test Kit
Radon is a cancer causing radioactive gas. You can't see it, smell it or taste it but it may be a problem in your home. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States and the Surgeon General recommends that every home be tested. Even if you've already tested, it's a good idea to confirm those results by testing again.
Radon can get into any type of building, regardless of the age, style, type or location. Luckily, there are simple ways to fix a radon problem that aren't too costly and even very high levels can be corrected. Testing is easy - just open the kit and leave it in your home or office for 3 to 7 days, then mail it to the lab. Your results will be mailed back directly to you and will include information on reducing your radon levels should a problem exist.
The two most accurate do-it-yourself testing methods for radon include the short term charcoal test, (3 to 7 day exposure time), or the long term alpha track test, (1 to 12 month exposure time). If you have never tested before, the short term test is recommended to identify serious problems as soon as possible. For annual exposures or follow up testing, long term tests are available. Each test is easy to use, meets all EPA requirements, complete with laboratory analysis and detailed report on your home or office.
Radon Short Term Test Kit (3 to 7 Day Exposure) - $9.95 (regularly $14.95)
Radon Long Term Test Kit (3 to 12 Month Exposure) - $29.95 (regularly $39.95)

Radon In Water Test Kit
Radon can enter your home through your water supply, especially if you use well water. Radon is a radioactive gas that is invisible, colorless, odorless and tasteless. The gas is produced in the ground from trace amounts of uranium and can travel great distances through porous soil and cracks in the rock. Radon dissolves in water and can contaminate your underground water supply. When radon enters your home through your well water, it can raise the radon concentrations in your home whenever the water is used.
You should test your well water especially if you have tested your air and have found that you have a problem. Each test is easy to use, meets all EPA requirements, complete with laboratory analysis and detailed report on your home or office.

Mold & Bacteria Test Kit
Often unseen, mold colonies can develop and grow inside wall cavities, crawlspaces, furnishings, plants and other areas releasing their spores into the air we breathe. Attracted to moisture, mold spores most often affect the eyes, nose, throat and ears causing allergy type reactions. These symptoms are usually overlooked as everyday medical complaints, thought of as something we all must suffer with when in fact, if caused by molds, can usually be controlled. It is now estimated that 50% of all homes contain problem molds. There has also been a 300% increase in the asthma rate due to molds over the past 20 years.
Researchers have now developed a test to determine what types of molds are in your home and how much you're being exposed to. By following the directions, these tests can even help to determine where it's coming from, saving possibly thousands of dollars in health costs and structural damage.
Each Mold & Bacteria test kit includes 4 separate tests so that different areas of the home or office may be tested simultaneously. Just expose the special culture plates for 15 minutes, store in a dark place for 72 hours, then use the included chart to determine the amounts and types of mold present. Compare the results to help find hidden locations and problem areas, plus see how your home or office compares with average. Common symptoms of mold exposure include:
Depression
Allergic Rhinitis
Muscle Aches
Sleep Disorders
Tiredness
Sinus Problems
Loss of Appetite
Headaches
Skin Rashes
Eye Irritation
Chronic Nasal Congestion
Coughing
Ear Aches
Irritability
Confusion
Asthma

Formaldehyde Test Kit
Formaldehyde is a human carcinogen that also causes allergy and asthma type symptoms. Headache, respiratory distress, fatigue, memory loss, and watery-itchy eyes are some of the more frequently reported problems associated with formaldehyde exposure.
Formaldehyde can be found in building materials such as particleboard, furniture, clothes, draperies, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and many other common household furnishings and products.
Because of the damage and adverse health effects caused by formaldehyde, the World Health Organization (WHO) and many countries have established a maximum recommended exposure limit of indoor formaldehyde of 0.1ppm (parts per million) - a level often found to be exceeded in American homes.
To perform your evaluation, expose the monitor for 5 days then send it to our Lab. Your certified Laboratory results will be accompanied with specific information on your home and the health effects that could result based on your measured exposure.
Most sensitive and accurate formaldehyde test kit available, measures concentrations as low as 0.01ppm. Same kit used by government agencies and health organizations worldwide.
Formaldehyde Test Kit - $49.95 (regularly $69.95)
Asbestos Test Kit
Nearly 30 million tons of Asbestos has been used in the U.S. since the turn of the century. Its durability and resistance to heat have made it a main component in literally thousands of building materials and its durability is the very reason it is so dangerous. Inhaled microscopic fibers remain in the body forever and are impossible to remove.
Asbestos is known to cause lung and bowel cancer, mesothelioma (cancer of the chest lining or abdominal lining), asbestosis (a restrictive lung disease) and noncancerous lung diseases.
Asbestos was extremely common in homes built before 1970 but is still used today. Some of the items that may contain asbestos in your home include: insulation, duct tape, furnace wraps, steam or water pipe wraps, floor tiles, acoustic ceiling tiles, ceiling textures or coverings, roofing materials, exterior siding, insulation, joint compound, textured paint, door gaskets, fireproof boards and flues around wood burning stoves, and some appliances (toasters, broilers, slow cookers, waffle irons, dishwashers, refrigerators, ovens, ranges, clothes dryers and electric blankets).
Testing is easy. Each asbestos test kit includes complete instructions, sample collection bags and laboratory analysis for any material you might suspect containing asbestos.
To test, only a small amount of sample material is needed, (2 inches by 2 inches). Place the sample in the small bag, place that bag into the larger bag and then mail it back to our EPA approved laboratory. Along with your analysis report, you will receive helpful information on reducing exposure should asbestos be found.

Lead Test Kit
It only takes a small amount of lead to adversely affect a person. Children are especially at risk since an amount equivalent to only 3 grains of sugar a day can cause irreversible damage. Our bodies absorb lead as if it were calcium, iron or vitamins and send it directly to the vital organs. Symptoms may not be noticeable for years but can cause damage to the liver, kidneys, brain, nerves and bones.
It is estimated that 5 out of 7 homes in America have lead based paint but lead can also be found in dinnerware, food cans, furniture, toys, mini-blinds, dust, soil and much more. Even brand new products may contain dangerous levels of lead although most are not manufactured in the U.S.
Now testing for lead is easy. To determine if any item contains lead, just dip the Lead Test dauber in water (it turns a pale yellow) and rub it on the item. If the dauber or test item turns pink, there's lead. Several daubers are included so that many items can be tested and daubers can be used repeatedly unless lead is detected. Be sure to test your homes paint and any items your child comes in contact with or anything you may use frequently.
Symptoms can include:
Diminished I.Q Irritability Sleep Disturbance Behavioral Changes Developmental Regression
Memory Loss Clumsiness Muscular Aches Abdominal Pain Vomiting Lead Test Kit - $9.95 (regularly $12.95)
